The Legacy Jazz Band offers a unique wedding experience that combines two popular wedding preferences. The sophistication and elegance of a jazz band, and the ability to accommodate all music genres with the benefits of a mobile DJ. The Legacy Jazz Band with vocalists Monte and Aubrey Slaver are the only professional father/daughter jazz vocal jazz performers in Dallas. People can expect to hear that old vintage Hollywood swing. Our arrangements are not our own interpretation, but rather of the swing era greats that made the early jazz songs so nostalgic and irresistible. We feature the duets of Nat and Natalie Cole, the Tony Bennett duets, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, the Frank Sinatra duets, and the Michael Buble duets. In addition, we cover artists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Bobby Darin, Vic Damone, Billie Holiday, Etta James, just to name a few. You will recognize every song that we do! Monte chose the name of the band because of his talented daughter, Aubrey. Aubrey is the living legacy of his lifetime of music.
Picture your guest arriving while live instrumental jazz is playing in the background. Once the wedding couple is ready to join the guests, the band would play a specially chosen song for the introduction. Once the couple is safely in the room, the band would transition to vocal jazz and play through dinner. One of the highlights of the evening will be the couples first dance. We are happy to accommodate any requests for this dance. When the special dances are finished, it is time for the DJ to crank up the tunes, and get the dancing started.
